  • Trek Overview

The Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is a beautiful amalgamation of the trending Manaslu Circuit Trek with the lesser-known Tsum Valley, creating a beautiful and unique experience. Unlike the crowded routes of Everest and Annapurna, this trek is tranquil and hassle-free. The three weeks of trek, kicks off tracking the off the beaten path to the remote and isolated Tsum Valley before rejoining the Manaslu circuit and heading north towards the Tibet border. The trek is within the Manaslu Conservation Area and offers a peaceful escape from the busier trails.

The Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek is renowned for its stunning mountain vistas, dramatic landscapes, terraced hillsides, mysterious canyons, alpine meadows, thundering waterfalls, frozen lakes, and dramatic rivers. The trail also features daunting suspension bridges, rocky paths clinging to cliff faces, and the demanding Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), adding adventure to the journey. Micro crampons are required for the typically snow- and ice-covered Larkya La Pass, which also occasionally needs a fixed rope. It takes endurance and the right level of fitness to walk for several days over an elevation of 3000m while navigating steep ridges and cliffs.

On the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek, you'll venture upstream along the Budhi Gandaki River, reaching Mu Gompa (3,700m) for stunning views of Ganesh Himal, Singri Himal, and Boudha Himal. Passing through the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,106m/16,751ft), which is the highest point of the trek, you'll make a semi-circular trip around three Manaslu peaks before reaching the Marsyangdi River. Along the way, you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of some of the world's highest peaks, including Manaslu, Himlung, and Annapurna II.

The trails on the Manaslu Tsum Valley Trek are adorned with cultural treasures, including chortens, prayer flags, mani walls, and ancient monasteries, showcasing the region's rich Himalayan heritage. Both the culturally rich way of life of the Tsumbas and Nupri people, as well as the pure Tibetan Buddhist influence in Tsum Valley, are unforgettable experiences that have the potential to change people's lives.

The trek offers diverse flora and fauna while we traverse the Manaslu region.Snow leopards or the colourful Himalayan Monal may be visible on this journey if you're lucky. The area is home to many different types of wildlife, including Himalayan Tahrs, Pikas, Himalayan Marmots, Blue Sheep, etc.

The Manaslu Circuit combined with Tsum Valley Trek is perfect for adventurous individuals who love exploring changing landscapes and cultures, and who are eager to experience the remote lifestyle and uncover the mysteries of the Himalayan region. The trek offers challenging terrain and opportunities to push oneself beyond their limits.
