The Ghorepani - Poonhill - Ghandruk Trek takes you to a varied and a colorful section of the Annapurna region. The drive between Kathmandu and Pokhara follows along the Trushull River. The road has many twists and turns, and you can see breathtaking views of Himalayas, green fields, and colorful villages all of which soothes your eyes as we travel along.

We arrive in Pokhara, a city on Phewa Lake, in central Nepal. Pokhara known as a gateway to the Annapurna Circuit, and several other popular trails in the Himalayas. Tal Barahi Temple, a 2-story pagoda, sits on an island in the lake. On the eastern shore, the Lakeside district has yoga centers, restaurants, and interesting shops.

Starting our walk at Naya Pul, we head to Birethanti, cross the Modi Khola, register at the checkpoint, and head to Tikhe Dhunga for our first night in the traditional tea houses. We climb the steep stone staircase that leads to Ulleri. After a stop in Banthanti to catch our breath, the trail makes a gradual slow climb into enchanting cool rhododendron and pine-forests until we reach Ghorepani. The village is located on a ridge surrounded with beautiful rhododendron trees and is inhabited mostly by Poon people of the Magar tribe. Sunrise on Poon Hill is one of the highlights of this trek. As the sun rises from cascading hills in the east, the snowy mountains dazzle you. Moreover, the golden morning sunray kisses the tip of gigantic mountains. It offers a breathtaking chance to capture marvelous photos. It is truly remarkable. Mere words cannot describe the beauty of the sunrise experience from the top of the hill. The Himalayan peaks we can view include the world’s 7th highest—Dhaulagiri, the 10th highest—Annapurna, 8th highest—Manaslu and the majestic Machhapuchhre peak “Fish Tail”.

Our trek continues uphill and downhill through the cool forest before reaching Tadapani for an overnight before we head toward the massive popular Ghandruk village. The trail today is easy and decends to Ghandruk via the charming village of Bhaisikharka. Ghandruk village is one of the most beautiful and fascinating places to explore the stunning views of various mountains with landscapes. Here you can explore many things like local culture, the Gurung Museum in this authentic Gurung village.
