The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a perfect blend of short treks in the Langtang Conservation Area and a small stretch of Shivapuri National Park. Despite being just a day's drive from Kathmandu, it remains unspoiled by the crowds of the Everest and Annapurna regions. This trek takes you through the lush forests, alpine pastures, and yak herds of Kyanjin Gompa in the dramatic settings of glaciers and mountains, as well as the sacred Gosaikunda Lake and Sherpa meadows of Helambu.

Discover the rich Buddhist cultures of the Tamangs and Sherpas on the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek. The ancient Kyanjin Gompa monastery  is a testament to this tradition. Along the trek, enjoy stunning views of towering peaks such as Dorje Lakpa (6,990m / 22,933 ft), Langtang Ri (6,370m / 20,898 ft), Langtang Lirung (7,245m / 23,769 ft) and many more. This region is home to a variety of unique wildlife, including Himalayan pheasants, Himalayan deer, Himalayan bears, monkeys, and the elusive red panda.

The typical route to begin the Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is to drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi via the Trisuli River. The trail leads through dense rhododendron forests and eventually reaches the alpine region, where trekkers cross the glacial moraine to reach the rebuilt village of Langtang.Continuing to the higher regions of the valley are home to yak pasturelands and the famous Kyanjin Gompa monastery, renowned for its yak cheese production. We have optional climbs to Kyanjin Ri or Tsherko Ri depending on our body signs to altitude.

The Langtang Gosaikunda Trek continues on to Gosaikunda, where the trail climbs steadily through terraced fields, highlands, and reaches the sacred lake. The journey keep up with a climb to the pass of Laurabina La (4,610m) with a distant view of Manaslu (8,163 m), followed by a scenic trail through alpine pastures, water falls and lush hills to the border village of Kutumsang. The trek proceeds towards the final stretch to Chisapani and Sundarijal before concluding in Kathmandu.

Langtang Village was devastated during the April 2015 earthquake, but the resilient locals have worked hard to rebuild the teahouses and lodges in the area. By visiting and trekking in this region, travelers can support the community's ongoing efforts to recover. The spiritual journey to Gosaikunda is a soul-satisfying way to conclude the trek.
