This journey displays the remote highlands' way of life, traditions, and hidden beauty. Our journey begins in Kathmandu with a 200-kilometre drive to Pokhara. It is another 90 kilometres from Pokhara to Beni Bazaar, where the trekking portion actually begins. We will track for Mohare Danda (Hill) first and follow the trail to Khopra Danda (ridge/Hill) via Poon Hill.
The Mohare Danda and Khopra trek is rated as a moderate to difficult trip because of the rocky terrain and some steep uphill climbs. Khopra Ridge, the highest point where we will stay is at 3,660 metre(12,007 feet) and a day trip to Khayer Lake, which is located at 4,500 metres (13,763 feet), making it the highest point of the hike.
We'll start by crossing the Kali Gandaki bridge and then ascending a hill from Mallaj. We will continue to Bas Kharka by walking through the remote village settlements and farmed fields.Next day, we'll walk to Nangi before getting to Mohare Danda (3313 m).
As we depart Mohare, Poonhill, another stunning and well-liked vantage point, will be our next reward. After an early morning hike to Poonhill, we will proceed from Ghorepani to Swanta, a little settlement on a flat area between two steep valleys. We shall ascend from Swanta to Khopra Ridge via Upper Chistibang.
Khopra is a fantastic vantage point and a well-kept secret. Khopra's hilltop provides countless opportunities to take in the breathtaking scenery in all directions. From Khopra Danda, we will climb to Khayar Lake (4660 m), a stunning hidden lake at the base of the Annapurna South. We then head back to Khopra.
The route we take back will go through Dobato, through Tadapani, and down to Ghandruk. Another very well-liked trekking spot is Ghandruk. The location is well known for the stunning mountain views it provides. A respectful Gurung community lives in this village. The following morning, after a hearty breakfast gazing at majestic mountains in Ghandruk, we walk through Birethanti back to Nayapul. After loading up at Nayapul, we'll drive to Pokhara and the next day to Kathmandu.
